Highway 26 Resurfacing Project Gets Underway This Week

Resurfacing work has
begun on a section of Highway 26 in the area this week. A 4.3 mile section of
highway from the Fond du Lac/Winnebago County Line north of Rosendale to
Interstate 41 in the City of Oshkosh began today (Monday). The project calls
for milling and resurfacing the existing pavement, replacing three culverts,
beamguard, shoulder gravel, signage and pavement markings. The highway will
remain open to traffic with flagging operations, except for a 12-day closure
where traffic will be detoured over Highway 151 and I-41. The Wisconsin
Department of Transportation reminds drivers to slow down and show caution when
driving through these construction areas The $2.29 million project is expected
to finish by July 19th.
