Highway 57 Crash Likely Involved Controlled Substances

A 19-year old Wood County man was airlifted in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash along Highway 57, just north of Chilton. His vehicle crossed the center line and hit two oncoming cars just before 3:30pm Thursday afternoon. A 19-year old Marshfield man, who was a passenger in his car, did not need to be taken to a hospital. The 55-year old Cedarburg man in the first car hit was treated and released from a hospital – and his 53-year old female passenger did not require treatment. A 43-year old Chilton woman and her child in the other car also didn’t need medical attention. The sheriff’s office suspects controlled substances are a factor in the crash.
