Holiday Mail For Heroes

The holiday season is not that far away but if you want to give a little seasonal cheer to a member of the U.S. military overseas, now is the time to get your cards in the mail. Barb Behling of the American Red Cross says that their “Holiday Mail for Heroes” campaign is now up and running.  She says that you can mail letters to the Red Cross until December 6th and they will be distributed to soldiers across the globe.   Behling adds that service members enjoy getting mail from random Americans and if you want to mail out multiple cards send them in bulk to speed the process because they have to take them out of each envelope.

Mail cards to:

In addition, following is information if you are interested in sending some Christmas cheer to wounded soldiers and their families:

Help wounded service members and their families over the holidays. The families face grave financial difficulties, often raising small children, and traveling back and forth between their homes and the hospital.

1. Send a holiday card

2. Send a Walmart gift card of any amount, available at Walmart and online, OR

3. Send a check of any amount made out to the Warrior and Family Support Center.* The Center will then purchase a gift card, and it will be given to the family of a Wounded Warrior in financial distress.

Mail to: Warrior and Family Support Center, 3138 Rawley Chamber, San Antonio, TX 78219, Attn: Ms. Judith Markelz
