Dodge County Sheriff’s officials say the man and a 58-year-old Richfield man were hunting on private property on Dairy Road in the Town of Leroy when the accident happened. The Richfield man shot at a flying pheasant and the bird shot from his shotgun struck the victim who was 40 to 50 yards away. An ambulance took the man to Aurora Medical Center in Hartford. Both hunters were wearing orange hats and vests.
