Illinois Man Arrested For FDL Assault

A 22-year-old Illinois man is facing some serious charges for allegedly assaulting a 19-year-old woman at a Fond du Lac apartment complex. Assistant Police Chief Steve Thiry says they got a call to 367 North Peters Avenue just before 6 p.m. Monday night about the scuffle. Officers knew the two were inside the apartment, but wouldn’t answer the door; then the woman cried out for help. Officers forced entry, but the man jumped off a second floor balcony and fled on foot.  One of the department’s police dogs was used to track the man. The suspect was found in a storage garage for an apartment complex that he had broken into. The K9 was used to capture him. Police have referred battery, 1st degree recklessly endangering safety, false imprisonment, intimidation of a victim, entry into a locked building, disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and resisting or obstructing an officer charges against the man.
