Judge Nuss Announces Run For Re-election

Fond du Lac County Judge Richard Nuss is seeking a third term in office. Monday Judge Nuss announced his intentions to run in the spring election next April. Governor Scott McCallum appointed him to succeed retiring Judge Henry Buslee on March 1st of 2002. Nuss was elected in April of 2003 and won re-election in April of 2009. Judge Nuss has 22 years of general trial practice and served over 7 ½ years as a Family Court Commissioner. He’s a Fond du Lac native and graduate of St. Mary’s Springs High School in 1961. He graduated from Marquette University College of Business Administration in 1966 and Marquette University Law School in 1972. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1966 to 1969 achieving the rank of Captain. He says, “As Circuit Judge for over 12 ½ years I have been assigned some of the most difficult cases that have come through the system and have presided over approximately 150 jury trials.” He says his passion for the bench is complimented by his desire to work and dedicated work ethic. Judge Nuss says, “It has been my privilege and honor to serve as Circuit Court Judge of Fond du Lac County, Branch 3 for almost 13 years and I look forward, given the opportunity, to continue to serve the citizens of Fond du Lac County with the same dedication and commitment in the foreseeable future.” He has been married to his wife Toni, for 48 years and they have 3 children and 10 grandchildren.
