Congressional Candidate Says Lampooning Of Grothman Was On Target

The lampooning of Congressman Glenn Grothman by HBO’s John Oliver caught the attention of his Democratic opponent in the election. Sarah Lloyd says the segment on Last Week Tonight with John Oliver called out Grothman on comments he made on equal pay for women and other issues. She says Grothman has demeaned single moms in the past and doesn’t support equal pay for women. She says quite frankly that isn’t acceptable. It also made fun of comments he has made on racism and African-American holidays like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Lloyd says Grothman brought many of his views with him to Congress from his time in the state legislature. The political satire was featured on a segment of the show called “People who some how got elected.” Grothman, a Republican, faces Lloyd and Independent Jeff Dahlke in the November 8th election.
