Milwaukee Men Try To Pass Bad Checks At Mayville Bank

Bond was set in Dodge County Court at $5,000 cash apiece for two Milwaukee man accused of trying to defraud a Mayville bank.  Twenty-seven-year-old Timothy Clayton and 22-year-old Timothy McGee Jr. have both been charged with one felony forgery count.  The two tried to pass counterfeit checks of $2,500 each at the National Exchange Bank.  Mayville Police officers took them into custody during a traffic stop.  Both have preliminary hearings set for December 8th.

Waupun Teen Arraigned On Stabbing Charge

The Waupun teen that allegedly stabbed a Randolph man was arraigned in Dodge County Court this week. Eighteen-year-old Nicholas Core pled not guilty to a charge of Injury by Negligent Use of a Weapon. A comment posted on social media about a girl was the catalyst for the stabbing in front of a home in the 500 block of West Brown Street in October. An 18-year-old Randolph man suffered a two-inch cut to his arm and was treated at Waupun Memorial Hospital.  Core will be back in court next month.

Oshkosh Sex Offenders Moved

Oshkosh Police say two sex offenders have moved into a motel at 215 Division Street. Fifty-five-year-old Timothy Giese has moved to Room #51 at the Town Motel. He is on electronic monitoring. Meanwhile 40-year-old Jason Lemmers is staying in the same motel in Room #53. One of his requirements is to be on GPS for the rest of his life.

United Way Update

The Fond du Lac Area United Way campaign is over the halfway mark to their fundraising goal. United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says they have reached 60 percent of what they need for their $760,000 goal. They have raised nearly $450,000, but still have a ways to go. She says recently they received a big check from J.F. Ahern Company for their contribution to the campaign. That check was for nearly $28,000. She also says students in nine local schools participated in their Penny Campaign this fall donating over $3,400.

FDL Salvation Army Bucket Brigade At KFIZ Today

Here’s your chance to double what you give to the Fond du Lac Salvation Army this holiday season. This morning is the Annual Bucket Brigade in the KFIZ/107.1 The Bull parking lot on Winnebago Drive in Fond du Lac. Salvation Army Captain Steve Wilson says you don’t even have to get out of your vehicle. Michel’s Corporation is providing a pledge to match up to $8,000 in donations, which could make the total donations for event up to $16,000. Wilson says that could go a long way toward their overall goal of raising $160,000 through the Red Kettle campaign. Among those who will participate in the fun this morning are; Miss Fond du Lac Outstanding Teen Amber Wells, Miss Fond du Lac, local firemen, 107.1 The Bull’s very own Banjo the Bull, and of course Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Dickens Of A Christmas

If the City of Ripon is haunted by ghosts of Christmas past there would be 25 of them, plus the one they will be spawning with their 26th Annual Dickens of a Christmas celebration this weekend. Ripon Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jason Mansmith says the fun gets started tonight and includes a new winter ice carnival called Fezziwig’s Festival at 5:30 p.m. People can visit with Santa, participate in a tree lighting ceremony, take a horse and carriage ride, and even toss a fruit cake. Saturday begins with a Breakfast with Santa at the Royal Ridges at 9 a.m. Tickets are available online at the Chamber’s website. Also new this year the Living Windows display in Downtown Ripon is moving to Saturday night. You can get a complete rundown of the activities at the Chamber’s website.

KFIZ/107.1 Christmas Parade

KFIZ and 107.1 The Bull will be honoring our men and women in uniform during the Christmas Parade in Fond du Lac Saturday. The theme for the parade is “I’ll Be Home For Christmas.” The parade starts at 4:15 p.m. with live coverage beginning at 4:30 on KFIZ. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the parade and will light the Community Christmas Tree at Veterans Park at the conclusion of the parade. A panel of local judges will award prizes for the “Most Creative,” “Best Children’s Entry” and “Best Use of Theme” floats. The parade route is from the intersection of Rees and Main Streets north to Main Street and Western Avenue.
