Man Falls From Roof In FDL

A 39-year-old man suffered major injuries to his back when he fell off a roof at 106 Cumberlynn Drive in Fond du Lac Thursday afternoon. Fire Captain Jim Knowles says a landing site was set up for Flight for Life at the Knights of Columbus Hall and the man was flown to ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. He was part of a roofing crew that was working on the home. The time of the rescue call was 2:17 p.m.

Sheboygan County Sheriffs Deputy Involved In Crash

A Sheboygan County Sheriff’s deputy is uninjured after a traffic crash early Friday morning. The crash between the deputy and another vehicle on I-43 at County Highway PP in the City of Kohler happened just before 2 a.m. The deputy radioed in that her squad car had been struck from behind and rolled over into the median. The deputy was not hurt in the crash, but had to be extricated from the vehicle. The other driver was not injured in the crash.

Former West Bend City Administrator Pleads To Prostitution Solicitation Charge

Former West Bend City Administrator TJ Justice will be sentenced next March for soliciting a child for prostitution. Justice pled guilty to the charge during a hearing in Waukesha County Court this week. He was arrested in Muskego where he went to meet what he thought was a teenage girl he had been communicating with. A child enticement charge was dropped as part of a plea bargain. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.

Winter Storm Coming

The Highway Safety Coordinator for Fond du Lac County says you see a lot of strange things as your driving on a highway during a snowstorm, but one of the most dangerous is the traveling igloo. Sheriff’s Captain Ryan Waldschmidt says it’s dangerous to leave snow and ice on your vehicle’s windshield and clear just enough to be able to see out of a small space. He says some people scrape off a small square area and hope the heat from their defrosters will do the rest. Forecasters are calling for a Winter Storm across southern Wisconsin tonight through late Sunday. NFDL Schools Oriole Open Benefits Three Organizations

The North Fond du Lac Village Board this week thanked those responsible for the School District’s Annual Oriole Open golfing event. Village Administrator Chuck Hornung says proceeds from the annual event benefit the Oriole Nation, the North Fond du Lac Police Benevolent Association, and the Village Pool. He says this year each organization got about $4,600 based on profits from the event. He says it is a huge benefit for the Benevolent Association and the Village Pool as well. He says proceeds from past Oriole Opens held them install a new splash pad at the Village Pool.

National Influenza Vaccination Week

The interim Public Health Officer for Fond du Lac County reminds residents it is not too late to get vaccinated against the flu. Joyce Mann took time during this National Influenza Vaccination Week to remind people about getting flu shots. She says only a couple of cases of flu have been reported in the County, which is usually the case during the holiday season. Mann says two cases have been reported, but they usually see more reported around the holidays. She says the County is about four percent behind vaccination rates for last year. She says the state goal is having 70 percent vaccinated for the flu, but right now we’re at about 32 percent.

Three Running For Dodge County Judges Seat

Three people have announced their intention to run for a Dodge County judge’s seat held for 22 years by the now retired Judge John Storck. Governor Walker appointed Martin De Vries of Randolph to the seat in July. He will be running for the seat next April. Also running are Waupun attorney Todd Snow and Beaver Dam attorney Randy Doyle. A three-way race would force a February 21 primary in advance of the April 4 general election.

Santa At Open Road Today

Santa Claus is dropping by Open Road Harley Davidson in Fond du Lac today. Fond du Lac Area United Way Executive Director Amber Kilawee says she wanted to get the word out on that event as a thank you to Open Road for donating for a gift basket used to incentivize employees at Brenner Tank to give to the United Way. She says Santa will be at Open Road today. She says it is a family friendly event from noon to 2 p.m. Open Road Harley Davidson is at 24 South Rolling Meadows Drive.
