He says it isn’t about freedom of speech, but whether it is wise to make this your platform for change disrespecting the flag and disrespecting the country. Kaepernick said he would not stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses Black people and people of color. Thiesfeldt finds it hard to believe Kaepernick has ever been oppressed. Thiesfeldt says Kaepernick’s parents attended his church when Kaepernick was a boy and he knows people who babysat for him when the family lived in Fond du Lac.

Congressman Grothman On EpiPen Price Backlash

Congressman Glenn Grothman says he’s glad the makers of EpiPen are going to offer a cheaper generic version of the drug for life-threatening allergies. There was a major backlash after drug makers raised the cost to $600. Congressman Grothman says it’s good to see a cheaper version will be offered. He says it is not unique. He says there are other drugs where a company bought out a patent and all of a sudden the price went through the roof. Grothman says a committee he sits on had hearings about drug makers gouging the public on the cost of life saving drugs. He says because of the problem he avoids taking campaign contributions from drug companies.
