Kienbaum Sentenced in Sadoff Case

An Oshkosh man convicted of defrauding a Fond du Lac scrap metal company out of millions of dollars is heading to prison. Sterling Kienbaum will spend eleven years behind bars with three years of extended supervision after pleading no contest to racketeering and theft charges. Kienbaum stole millions of dollars from Sadoff Iron and Metal between 2009 and 2015 – and has agreed to pay back $6-million as part of a negotiated restitution agreement. Investigators say he ran an operation where vehicles packed with dirt were used to increase the weight of what was being sold to Sadoff. He also paid off a semi driver and a Sadoff employee, who were both convicted and placed on probation last year.
