Lake Winnebago Recreational Survey

A survey is already looking to make next summer better for
people who use Lake Winnebago. The Winnebago
Waterways Program sent out the recreational water survey on Tuesday – aimed at
improving experiences for people who use the lake during the summer and fall.
It asks boaters and paddlers 20 questions, including if the lake has enough
launching points, whether they think launch fees are reasonable, and how
efficient navigational aids are.

Results will be incorporated into a Lake
Management Plan to help improve the health of the lake. A 2007 study from
UW-Extension estimated that recreational angling alone generates over $234
million to the five-county area surrounding Lake Winnebago.
