Lakeside Park Master Plan

The Fond du Lac City Council is on board with an Advisory Park Board recommendation to replace the existing pavilion in Lakeside Park. The Council reached that consensus during a committee of the whole meeting this week on the Lakeside Park Master Plan. Director of Public Works Jordan Skiff provided an update on the plan. He says no one wants to change the character of the park, but some improvements would benefit users of the park. Skiff says a new pavilion would serve as the hub of activity in the park and could incorporate many suggestions made by the Lakeside Park Exploratory Committee. Originally a second pavilion was being considered, but now the consensus is to build on the current pavilion site. Skiff says the new pavilion would not be built until late 2018 or early 2019 if funding for it is approved. He says the City Council won’t approve a final version of the Lakeside Park Master Plan for another couple of months.
