Lakeside Park Pavillion Renovation Moves Forward

The slow-moving train is
getting ready to pick up steam. The FDL City Council met, in the Council
Chambers, Wednesday night to re-visit the Lakeside Park Project. The Pavillion
Renovation was addressed Wednesday, with Joe Moore resetting for the Council
where everything currently sits. Moore reminded the Council that the current footprint for the pavilion would not change drastically, but the changes made inside will make better use of existing space.

The feasibility study
for an alternate park master plan, which included an assortment of additional concepts, was approved
back in February. Council President Brian Kolstad said he was in favor of the
Renovation Project, saying it would be good for the community, regardless of whether private funding assisted in the overall plan project or not. Council voted 6-1 in favor of moving forward, with Miller
voting against, saying she thought the project should be
postponed, indefinitely, given the concerns surrounding COVID-19 going on
currently.
