Laning Elected Chair Of Wisconsin Democratic Party

Democrats elected Martha Laning Chair of
their party at their state convention Saturday in Milwaukee. Nearly 1,350 party
members cast their votes. Laning will serve a two-year term beginning
immediately and running through the 2017 Democratic Party of Wisconsin State
Convention. Laning says, “Today I thank not only the Party members who supported
me all over the state, but also my opponents in the race who helped us have an
honest conversation about the challenges facing the Party and our state, and
most importantly–how we will work together for a better Wisconsin.” Laning is
from Plymouth. She ran for the 9th State Senate seat last fall, but lost to
eventual winner Devin LeMahieu.
