Legislation Could Affect School District Short Term Borrowing

The Fond du Lac School Board recently approved $11 million in short term borrowing for the beginning of the new school year. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says it is something they have to do every year, but the state legislature is considering legislation that would spread out the payment of aid for public schools, which could eliminate the need for short term borrowing. State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt confirms there are several proposals in the legislature that could impact that short term borrowing.
