FDL City Council Preview

 

The Fond du Lac City Council
will consider a resolution tonight that would help Marian
University fund its repurposing of the
Nielsen Building. The resolution would declare
blight for the property at 30 South Main and
would also declare intent to issue $4.2 million in redevelopment revenue bonds
for the project.  Passing of the
resolution is one of a series of actions required to issue the bonds. Also
during the meeting the Council will consider adopting a 5-year Recreation plan
for the City. The current plan expires at the end of the year. The Council
meets at 6 p.m. at the City-County
Government Center
.

 

Panera And Love’s Signs of Progress

 

Fond
du Lac
’s Community Development Director says
getting national and regional chains like Panera Bread and Love’s Truck Stop to
the community is a sign of progress. Dyann Benson says it’s nice to see that
type of development coming to the City. She says when you see those types of
businesses coming to the community it’s a sign that we are growing and vibrant
community that is viable to do business in. Both Panera and Love’s planned to
open for business this month.

 

Blood Drive In FDL Wednesday

 

Area residents are invited to join Agnesian HealthCare
associates, volunteers and physicians and donate an hour of time Wednesday to
give blood to the BloodCener of Wisconsin. Blood donations will be accepted
from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Agnesian
HealthCare Plaza
Level Conference
Center at 430 East Division Street in Fond du Lac. Blood that is
donated remains local. To make an appointment call 926-4961. Walk-ins are also
welcome.

 

 

Trash Reminder

 

A reminder to Fond
du Lac
residents who have the City pick up their trash
and recycling. If your collection is normally on Thursday you are asked to have
your trash and recyclables out Wednesday morning by 5:30 a.m. It will be picked
up along with the normal collection. There will be no collection this Thursday
and Friday due to the Thanksgiving holidays. Friday’s collection will be picked
on Monday along with that day’s normal collection.
