FDL Fire
Dept Requests Adopt A Hydrant For The Winter

Fond du Lac
Fire Department officials are asking residents to keep a few things in mind as
the snow piles up this winter. Division Chief of Fire Preventtion Troy Haase
(HAH-zee) says they are asking people to adopt a fire hydrant if it’s near
their home and shovel it out. He says it saves them time if they have to
respond for a fire and could even save a home. He says it’s also important to
keep your house address free of ice and snow so it’s readable. Haase says they
also recommend keeping your gas and electric meters free of ice and snow and
the outside vents and intakes for your furnace.
