Burke & Doyle

Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke appears to be distancing herself
from former Governor Jim Doyle. During a meeting with the Milwaukee Journal
Sentinel editorial board Wednesday, Burke said she hasn’t sought advice from
the man who hired her as his Commerce Department secretary. Burke
said, “Not even once a month.” She said it’s been only a few times
since she got into the race, even though Doyle was elected twice and served
both terms as
chief executive. Governor Scott Walker,
who never mentions Burke by name, frequently compares her policies to those of
her former boss and says electing Burke would be essentially a third term for
Doyle. For her part, Burke said there were things on which she and Doyle did
not see “eye to eye,” including raids to the transportation fund and
large increases to college tuition.
Burke and Walker are tied in the latest
released on Wednesday.
Dodge
To Run As Write-In
Dodge County
Sheriff Patricia Ninmann announced earlier this week that she will run in the
general election on November 4th as a write-in candidate Ninmann was defeated in the Republican
Primary in August by Dale Schmidt. Ninmann
says she’s running because she’s talked to 100s of people who want her run as a
write-in. Ninmann was been sheriff since
being appointed by Governor Scott Walker in April of 2013.

A pair of
schools have been recently honored for their high achievement. District
Superintendent Dr. Jim Sebert says earlier this week staff members from Chegwin
Elementary were in
straight year. Sebert says people have visited Chegwin from all over the state
of
to observe how Chegwin’s staff has a laser like focus on student learning and
how every child regardless of circumstances can learn. Lakeshore Elementary was
recently one of eight state schools named a National Blue Ribbon School. A

Calls
You may have
noticed when an ambulance is sent out on an
call, you also see a fire truck go along on the call. Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase
of the
Fire Department says they do that so they can get more than two people out to a
critical situation. He says they try to
have the truck meet the ambulance to help them with equipment and CPR. Haase says they typically have to 3
paramedics and 2 EMTs on critical calls.
He adds you try to get to 4 or 5 people on a scene to totally take care
of a patient on a scene that is critical.

or even a Camero. A total of $20 will be donated to the cause for every person
in the vehicle during the test drive. The event runs from 9am to 1pm.
