West Bend Woman
Sentenced In Sexual Assault Case

A 27-year-old West
Bend
woman who had sexual contact twice with a
13-year-old boy in March of last year in her apartment will spend five years in
prison and six years under extended supervision. Earlier this year, a jury
found Christine A. Spoo guilty of two counts of second degree sexual assault of
a child under 16. In court for sentencing yesterday Spoo, continued to maintain
that the assaults never happened.  Judge

prison and ten to fifteen years of extended supervision. Spoo and her attorney
asked that Spoo be placed on probation. Spoo’s attorney says an appeal is
likely.

Extinguish Your Library Fines

The Fond du Lac Fire
Department and JF Ahern will give you a chance to clean up your record at the Fond du Lac Public
Library this afternoon.  Troy Haase of
the Fond du Lac
Fire Department says that the Fire Fighters Local 400 and JF Ahern have each
contributed $2000 to a fund that will allow you to return any over-due items at
no cost.   Haase says that the library
needs their material back and sometimes people don’t return them because they
face a fine.  He says this will get you
back in good graces and have your fines whipped out.  He says a fire truck will be out at the
library during the event to talk about fire prevention and they may have a few
giveaways.  The event runs from 1pm to
3pm this afternoon.

Lottery Scam

Wisconsin Lottery officials remind players to be alert about
lottery-related scams. There is currently a scam being sent via email that
claims the recipient has won a large sum of money. The Lottery does not know
who winners are until they come forward – it does not contact players by phone,
email or letter saying they’ve won. Lottery scams often involve telling
consumers they have won, but need to send a processing fee or divulge personal
information like credit card or social security numbers. The Wisconsin Lottery
does not require fees when winners claim a prize, the Lottery would not ask for
personal information over the telephone or in an email. If it seems too good to
be true, it probably is. Wisconsin Lottery officials say consumers should be
aware of the potential scams and use caution if they are contacted about
winning a lottery prize. If you get a questionable phone call, e-mail or
letter, contact the Lottery’s Player Hotline at 608.266.7777.
