ID
With
legislatures continuing to battle in the courts over various laws, clerks
across the state are caught in the middle trying to make sure everything stays
up to date as election day approaches.
Clerk Lisa
says that on again off again laws like Voter ID means changes to paperwork,
which takes time and money.
says with issues such as voter ID and same sex marriage laws constantly up in
the air, they’ve had to deal with constant change. Wisconsin Attorney General JB Van Hollen said
last week that they are exploring the Supreme Court’s concerns over the Voter
ID and hope to still have it on Election Day.

Health Officer Kim Mueller says they are about half way through the health
department’s scheduled flu vaccine clinics for the fall. (Monday) Today they
will be at
the health department offices in the

from 3 to 5 p.m. It’s $30 per dose and Medicare may pay for that. She says the
vaccine will help ward off several types of flu viruses. More information about
the flu clinics is available at the County’s website under the health
department page.
NFDL Fire Dept Open House Monday
The public can get its look at the 28-year-old ladder truck
North Fond du Lac officials are talking about replacing during an open house at
the
Administrator Chuck Hornung says residents can have a look at all the fire
department’s equipment during the open house, which will be from 5 to 7
p.m. He says it will cost more than
$850,000 to replace the truck. Hornung says if they did decide to purchase a
new ladder truck they would probably order it in January. He says it wouldn’t
be delivered until about nine months into the year and they wouldn’t have to
make their first payment until 2016.
Imagination Network Meets Tuesday
Downtown
Partnership Executive Director Amy Hansen says a monthly meeting of
entrepreneurs is a good way to share ideas and make them become reality. The
Imagination Network meets the second Tuesday of every month from 6 to 8 p.m. at
the Elks Club in
Hansen says there are a lot of good ideas out there. Tuesday Tom Pankratz, of
Advanced Tooling Inc of Mt. Calvary; Julie Balson, of Gallery & Frame Shop
of downtown Fond du Lac; and Mark Hopper, of Hopper’s Screen Printing and All
Star Trophy of Fond du Lac, will be sharing how they got started, how they have
grown, and what lessons they’ve learned. Imagination Network meetings are free
and open to everyone in the area.
