Flowers In The City

The Fond du Lac County Master Gardner Association along with the Fond du Lac Area Foundation have established a Fond du Lac City Parks Flower Fund for the purpose of providing support to the City of Fond du Lac Flower Program and flowerbed improvements.  The money will be used solely for the city to purchase, grow and maintain the flower and flowerbeds in our community.  Contact the Fond du Lac Area Foundation for more information on how to contribute to this fund.

Helping Out

The North Fond du Lac Police Department and the North Fondy Police Benevolent Association is gearing up for their annual “Food For Families” program.  Each year they adopt a number of families during the Christmas season and provide them with gifts and groceries.  They are no longer accepting food items for the drive, but will accept cash or gift cards.  They also are in need of the following items; new in package socks & underwear, new winter jackets of any size for children and adults, paper products, and toiletries.  You can drop off any items at the North Fond du Lac Police Department.

Heating Help

Alliant Energy is reminding customers that Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program agencies are now accepting applications for the upcoming heating season. The program provides dollars to moderate and low income level households to help pay a portion of their winter gas or electric bills.  Payments depend upon household size, income level, and home energy costs. The program helps income-eligible households. For example, a family of four which earns approximately $47,485 annually or less, or a two-person family with earnings of about $32,290 or less, may qualify for energy assistance dollars. To obtain energy assistance, qualified Wisconsin residents can apply to their local county energy assistance agency for WHEAP funds through May 15, 2014.  Visit  homeenergyplus.wi.gov for more info.

Fall Back

Daylight Savings Time officially ends on Sunday morning at 2am.  Remember you “fall back” by turning your clocks back an hour.  If you forget….you’ll be very early for church on Sunday morning.
