Fire Damages FDL Home

Fire damaged a home at 180 Ledgeview Avenue in Fond du Lac Friday morning. Division Chief of Fire Prevention Troy Haase says the family left the home to drop their kids off for school and when they returned the house was on fire. When firefighters arrived the fire was well underway. He says fire was coming out of the windows and they did a search and rescue because they didn’t know everyone was already out of the home. He says they tried to extinguish the fire from inside, but the roof was getting bad so they pulled firefighters out of the structure.  Haase says he talked with the residents and it appeared the fire started in the kitchen, but they didn’t have any appliances on in the room when they took the kids to school. The time of the fire call was 8:10 a.m.
