Fond du Lac School District Superintendent Jim Sebert says they hope to be able to fill their High School Athletic Director position at the school board’s July meeting. He says 30 or 31 people have applied for the position. He says he’s talked to a few of them. He says the board should be able to act on a recommendation for the position at their July 13th meeting. The board will have no second meeting in the month of July.

Will Takes Seat On NFDL School Board

Melissa Will was officially sworn in as a member of the North Fond du Lac School Board this past week. Will was one of four people who applied for the vacancy created by Ryan Pelot and was appointed by the board to fill the seat earlier this month. District Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says it’s good to have her on the board. He says she works at Aurora and she graduated from area schools. He says it’s nice to have the board back to five members and they are off and running again. Will will fill the remainder of Pelot’s term, which runs to next April.

Susan Bach says a study by the National Cyber Security Alliance bears that out. According to the survey 74 percent of parents said they don’t monitor their children’s online activities. She says on the other hand the same survey found that 46 percent of children said they would change their online habits if their parents were paying attention. It’s suggested that parents monitor their children’s online activity especially with social media. June is Internet Safety Month.
