Governors Conference Keeps Troopers And Law Enforcement Busy

State Troopers in the area will be plenty busy at the end of the month with EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh and the Governors Conference in Milwaukee going on at the same time. Trooper Scott Hlinak of the Fond du Lac Post says he knows from working one of Governors Conferences in the past that sometimes the governors want their families to see the state attractions, which can lead to requests like taking their family to the Dells. He says sometimes the request is more local to Milwaukee like visits to Summerfest or the Milwaukee Museum. He says the Governors Conference will also be a bit taxing for the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Department and Milwaukee Police.

The Solutions Center in Fond du Lac is always in need of volunteers, but right now could use someone who doesn’t mind getting a little grimy. However the thing they need most is someone that doesn’t mind doing a little yard work.

The Solutions Center provides shelter for victims of domestic abuse and the homeless. Anyone interested in volunteering can call 923-1743.
