Traffic Deaths
Traffic crashes resulted in the deaths of 63 people along Wisconsin roadways last month – five more than August of last year. Still, overall traffic deaths in Wisconsin are down about 12 percent this year. Through August, Wisconsin traffic crashes claimed 348 lives compared to 397 over the same eight-month period last year. Eight people died in Wisconsin traffic crashes over the Labor Day weekend including four motorcyclists.

 

Save A Smile Gets Donations

Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says the contributions came in a while ago, but the County Board recently approved two donations for their Save A Smile dental hygiene program for children and adults. She says the Soroptimists International of Fond du Lac and Fond du Lac Redevelopment Authority gave the program thousands of dollars. The Soroptimists raised their money through events like Chocolate Fantasy. She says the program mostly helps out children on medical assistance who are eligible for dental services.

 

Fondue Fest

The  7th annual Fondue Fest is in downtown Fond du Lac today from 9am to 5pm.  The Farmers Market vendors will be moved to Main Street, there will be plenty of activities for the kids.  A pair of music stages will be on North and South end of Main Street.  The K107.1-FM Music Stage will be on South Main Street near 4th Street.  The lineup on that stage includes; Black Iris from 10am to Noon, Vinyl Groove from 12:30pm to 2:30pm, and Unity from 3pm to 5pm.  Over 20,000 attend Fondue Fest each year.  For a complete list of activities head to fondduefest.com.
