Christmas
Dinner In FDL

Those
without a place to go for Christmas Dinner have the option of going to the 15th
annual Christmas Dinner in Fond du Lac
Friday. Organizer Mike Turk says this year they will have it at the Eagles Club
at 515 North Park in Fond du Lac.
He says it’s an opportunity to provide a meal to someone who is alone and needs
fellowship at Christmas or who need a meal on that particular day. He says they
will also have entertainment and raffles. The free dinner will be from 11 a.m.
to 2 p.m. Christmas Day. Turk says they can pick up people who are homebound
for the dinner or make deliveries, but you have to let them know by 5 p.m.
today. He says you can give them a call at (920) 924-0850. You can also call
that number if you would like to volunteer for the dinner.

New
Ambulance Rates Approved By Ripon Common Council

The Ripon
Common Council recently approved increasing rates for certain ambulance
services. City Administrator Lori Rich says every year the EMS Department takes
a look at the rates and makes recommendations. She says the Council approved
increasing the rates to keep up with inflation. She says the new rates
incorporate the additional paramedic services that will be provided. She the
paramedic services begin in January part-time and go full-time in July.

The new
rates go into effect January 1st.

Gift Card
Advice

The
Division Administrator for the state’s Department of Agriculture, Trade and
Consumer Protection says if you’ve run out of options on your gift list and are
considering a gift card there are a few things you should know. Frank Frassetto
says first of all make sure the package hasn’t been tampered with. He says turn
the card around and make sure the PIN number hasn’t been scratched off and read
the fine print for the rules on usage and any associated fees. He also says
it’s best to use it as soon as you can. He says that way you won’t lose any
money stored on the card and treat the card like real money and keep it safe.
He says to make copies of the receipt if you have one so you can replace it if
it is lost or stolen.
