The 22-year-old Theresa man who owned the knife a 21-year-old Campbellsport man was stabbed with at a drinking party in February waived his recent preliminary hearing in Dodge County Court. Nicholas Isken then entered a “not guilty” plea to a charge of being party to aggravated battery. The victim suffered a collapsed lung and ended up in the Intensive Care Unit at St. Agnes Hospital. Investigators say the victim was trying to break up a fight. Isken allegedly kept the knife in the glove compartment of his car.

Business Improvements Needed To Stay Competitive

Fond du Lac County Executive Al Buechel says it’s important for businesses to keep their facilities up to date. He says staying competitive doesn’t always mean expanding or building new facilities. However, he says it can impact future business decisions. He says a good example of what can go wrong is what happened with Tecumseh in New Holstein. Buechel says the facility became old and obsolete and when the company had to make a decision about whether to remodel, build or move elsewhere; they moved elsewhere. He says the creation of a regional loan fund that Fond du Lac and eight other counties will be participating in should help avoid that from happening to other businesses.

State Representative Thiesfeldt Visits FDL School District

Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Jim Sebert says State Representative Jeremy Thiesfeldt couldn’t have picked a better time to take a recent tour of the district. Thiesfeldt toured Woodworth Middle School and the High School. Sebert says Thiesfeldt was interested in finding out more about the High School’s 1 to 1 computing initiative. He says it was perfect timing because the same week three different school districts were visiting to see how the program works including representatives of the Jefferson School District who were on hand for Thiesfeldt’s visit.

TeenScreen Program Helps Out North Fondy Teens And Others

North Fond du Lac Schools Superintendent Aaron Sadoff says Fond du Lac County has a very good program to address teens that are likely to act on at-risk thoughts. He says the TeenScreen program helps prevent students from following through on some of those thoughts or behaviors. He says they had 12 students in their district that were considered at-risk and they get confidential help through the program. The Fond du Lac Area TeenScreen Program is available at 12 different locations in the County including the Fond du Lac and North Fond du Lac High Schools.
