Local Student Awarded Banker Funded Scholarship

Fond du Lac, Wis. – Johnathan Bovee, son of National Exchange Bank & Trust employee Sue Freund, was presented with a $1,000 scholarship and award certificate from the Wisconsin Bankers Association.

 

Each year the WBA Retail Section awards five $1,000 scholarships to Wisconsin high school seniors who will be furthering their education at a Wisconsin state accredited college, university or state operated technical school. The scholarships are only awarded to an employee, or the child of an employee, at an in-state location of a WBA Retail Banking Section member institution.

 

Recipients of the scholarship must demonstrate strong academic achievement, community volunteerism and involvement in school activities.

 

The WBA Retail Section Scholarship has offered these scholarships to graduating students each year for over two decades.

 

Bovee graduated from Oakfield High School in May 2017. He will be attending the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh to pursue a degree in Finance. Bovee is the son of National Exchange Bank & Trust Assistant Vice President Sue Freund.
