Low Energy Costs to Help with Thanksgiving Dinner Stress

Alliant Energy is reminding people that the cost of powering your Thanksgiving celebration should be the least of your worries this holiday season.
Reports from the utility company show that creating a typical Thanksgiving meal, including a 16-pound turkey – all stuffed and roasted – along with mashed potatoes and gravy, dinner rolls, green bean casserole, and two pumpkin pies should cost $1.38 in electricity costs – or $0.37 in natural gas to prepare.
Alliant also recommends turning down the furnace with a house full of people and food being cooked to save a little extra dough.
