Man Arrested after Short Chase, Found Hiding in Business

A suspect is in custody after a short chase that ended with
the man entering a business on the south side of Fond du Lac Tuesday afternoon.
Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Deputies along with the Wisconsin State Patrol and
members of the Lake Winnebago MEG Unit attempted to stop a vehicle on
Interstate 41 near Lost Arrow Road just before 5 pm as part of a drug
investigation. The vehicle did not stop for law enforcement, eventually exiting
to go south on Highway 151. After terminating the chase, another deputy spotted
the vehicle driving north on Hickory Street near Larsen Drive. When the suspect
spotted the deputy, he turned into the parking lot of Muthig Industries, left
the vehicle and ran into the building. A perimeter was established and employees
were evacuated as the building was searched. The man was eventually found
hiding in a bathroom and was taken into custody without incident. He is being
held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on multiple charges.

Because of the nature
of the drug investigation, no further details can be released. Also assisting
the Sheriff’s Office today were Fond du Lac Police and the Wisconsin Department
of Justice Department of Criminal Investigations.
