Man Charged in Connection to September Shooting at FDL Apartment

A 31-year-old man has been charged in connection to a September
shooting at an apartment complex in the City of Fond du Lac. Delaney K. Watt made
his initial appearance in court Thursday and faces 17 counts, including Attempted
1st Degree Intentional Homicide, Recklessly Endangering Safety along
with drug and gun charges. Police were called to the Forest Plaza Apartments on
September 12th where two victims had been shot and the shooter had
fled the scene. A witness told police they had seen a man get into a car into
the parking lot, a person who was eventually identified as Watt. Watt denied
being the shooter in an interview with police, but evidence including cell
phone “pings” placed him at the scene and he was taken into custody. During a
subsequent search of his apartment, police found large quantities of drugs,
over $16,000 in cash, and weapons. Watt is being held on a $500,000 cash bond
and his preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 1st. He has been
in custody since September 13th on a separate matter.
