Man Detained after Explosives Found at Oshkosh Hospital

A 39-year-old man has been detained after explosives were found at a hospital in Oshkosh. Police were called to the Ascension Northeast Wisconsin Mercy Campus on Oakwood Road around 2:20 AM Wednesday for a report that an explosive device had been located in an individual’s property. Officers arrived on scene and later discovered a second explosive device in their property. The Brown and Outagamie Bomb Squad responded to the scene and removed the explosives from the area. A search of the suspect’s car and Oshkosh home did not lead to any more explosives being found. The man is not an employee of the hospital, and no threats were made during the incident. Police say the public is not in any danger and that nobody was injured in the incident. Anyone with information is asked to Oshkosh Police Detective Hinke at 920-236-5703.
