Man Killed in Calumet County Snowmobile Accident

A man killed in a snowmobile accident in Calumet County
Monday night has been identified.

Officials say 65-year-old Robert Hoerth lost control of his
snowmobile while crossing Highway 151 on a trail near Harlow Road in the Town
of Chilton. Hoerth was ejected from the snowmobile. He was the only person on
the sled at the time of the accident, which happened just before 11 pm.

The Wisconsin DNR recorded 16 fatal snowmobile accidents in
2019. Officials say 11 of those involved operating on public trails and roads,
while four were on frozen waterways.
