Manning Resigns From FDL City Council

Joking that he had all the makings of a country music song having lost his job in January and his house in a fire last month, Fond du Lac City Councilman Dan Manning resigned from the Council last night. Manning says it’s because he is taking a new job as a consultant, which involves traveling about 90 percent of the time. He says he’s a professional optimist and has donated the property his home sits on to the City hoping it might some day become a place Habitat for Humanity can rebuild on. As for his time on Council he says it was a great experience that he enjoyed doing. He says his partner Joseph is still in school as an art student at the U-W Fond du Lac and they will continue to live in Fond du Lac for the next 6 months to year and a half.
