Many Pools Remain Closed In State

Lots of sun, warm temps, no
school. Those three key ingredients usually mean pools that are overflowing with
kids and families enjoying the water. The global coronavirus pandemic means
many community pools in Wisconsin
remain closed this summer. There’s no evidence COVID-19 can spread through
water in pools, hot tubs or water parks. The CDC says proper disinfection
should kill the coronavirus. But most facilities have changing rooms and plenty
of shared surfaces where the virus can spread. Forty-nine municipalities that
belong to the Wisconsin
Parks
and Recreation
Association have closed pools for 2020, while only 24 are already open or plan
to at some point.
