Marian Grad Students Survey Helping FDL Salvation Army Thrift Store

Fond du Lac County residents have unique opportunity to help a Marian University Graduate team shape The Salvation Army of FDL’s Thrift Store future.   Three Marian University Organizational Leadership Quality (OLQ) graduate students are conducting a survey through June 19, asking for feedback on The Salvation Army Thrift Store.  All Fond du Lac County residents are encouraged to complete the 10 question survey online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BHXDZLS and at The Salvation Army Thrift Store, located  behind Culvers at 79 West Pioneer Rd. 9 am to 6 pm every Monday – Saturday.

Survey responses to questions as “Are you aware that The Salvation Army of Fond du Lac has a Thrift Store?”, “What is the most important part of your shopping experience?”  and “What suggestions do you have for improving The Salvation Army Thrift Store?” will map steps for the store’s continued development.

2015 marked the 125th Anniversary of The Salvation Army in Fond du Lac County and tremendous evolution for The Salvation Army Thrift Store.  The store now boasts new management, staff, pricing system, and layout.  The graduate survey will help determine what’s next, and Salvation Army Captains Steven & Telinda Wilson say, “We look forward to learning the community’s ideas on how we can create a resale experience focused on doing the most good.”

The Thrift Store’s success is vital to The Salvation Army’s ability to serve Fond du Lac’s most vulnerable. In 2015, 100 Thrift Store vouchers allowed families in need to select clothing and household essentials at no charge.  Every donation, every purchase and the proceeds increase The Salvation Army’s available resources to serve those most in need, right here,  in Fond du Lac County.

The OLQ Graduate team consists of Monica Danek, Chuentao Ho, and Marla Pearce, under the direction of Dr. Hank Lindberg. The survey results will be the cornerstone for the team’s final component to earn  Masters of Organizational Leadership and Quality.
