Marian University Participates In Model UN

17-Dec-2017

Marian University’s Model UN team traveled to Washington, DC November 1 – 6, 2017 to participate in the national conference.  They represented United Nations Member State of the Royal Kingdom of Morocco, visited their embassy, and placed in the upper third of all teams at the competition, earning an official Honorable Mention.

Participating students included Erin Butzke, Trevor Johnson, Nauris Buskevics, Lillie Lee,

Lauren Casper, Anna Steberg, Janae Dell, and Ryan Wagner. Scott Dell and Garry Moise are the faculty for the Model UN courses this year.

"I learned how to interact with politically-motivated students from across the country and globe and made connections in order to meet a common goal,” said Erin Butzke, a nursing student form Fond du Lac, Wis. “It was a great learning experience and I really enjoyed it."

Students in Marian University’s Model U.N. Program will host a Model U.N. Conference for High School Students on Friday, February 9, 2018. For more information, please visit www.marianuniversity.edu/modelunhsconference, call 920.923.8621, or email modelun@marianuniversity.edu

The Marian team will participate in the International Model U.N. Conference in New York on March 18-22, 2018.

Marian University was founded in 1936 by the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes in Fond du Lac, Wis. The institution has one of the lowest student-faculty ratios in the state, and strives to live its core values as a community committed to learning, dedicated to service and social justice and joined together by spiritual traditions. Marian offers undergraduate, adult, master’s and doctoral degree programs at its main campus and in facilities throughout Wisconsin.
