Marian University Promotions Announced

FOND DU LAC, Wis. –Marian University’s Board of Trustees has approved the appointment of Dr. Russel Mayer as Provost of Marian University. Additionally, the Board has approved the promotion of Dr. Cyndi Nienhaus, CSA, to Associate Professor of Religious Education/Teacher Education in the College of the Professions.

 

Dr. Mayer, who will now serve as Marian University’s Provost, brought extensive experience in higher education to Marian when he joined the administration in July, 2016, as the Vice President for Academic Affairs. Dr. Mayer previously served in various senior positions at Merrimack College in North Andover, Mass., including Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Initiatives. Dr. Mayer earned his bachelor’s from Wesleyan University and his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and was an American Council on Education Fellow in 2012-13.

 

Dr. Cyndi Nienhaus, CSA, received promotion to rank of Associate Professor of Religious Education/Teacher Education in the College of the Professions. Dr. Nienhaus received a Bachelor of Science in Education degree from Marian University, a Master of Arts in pastoral studies from St. Francis de Sales Seminary, and a Ph.D. in religious education from Fordham University. Dr. Nienhaus has been with Marian University since 2008.
