Meyer And Lorrigan Elected FDL City Council President And VP

16-Apr-2013

The Fond du Lac City Council elected a new Council President and Vice President during their organization meeting this evening. Sam Meyer got 4 votes and Lee Ann Lorrigan 2 votes. It’s Meyer’s second stint on the City Council and he says he’s grateful for the opportunity to lead the Council. The Council then voted Lorrigan in as Vice President. She defeated Rob Vande Zande 5 to 1 for the Vice President’s seat. The Council also voted to amend supplemental rules to allow public comments on items not on the agenda to just after the audience comment time during regular meetings. Meyer says it’s a good idea.

Citizens of Fond du Lac we need to watch this council closely. With Manning a gay democrat, with Block a liberal attorney, with Miller being a former union rep and with Lorrigan being down the middle,Meyer being a conservative and Vande Zande being a conservative also. How do you think there going to vote when it comes to raising fees and taxes. Miller and Lorrigan already proved themselves with voting for the garbage tax and Manning and Block both said they would have voted the same way. Vande Zande voted against it and Meyer said he was against it also. Who is REALLY looking out for the citizens of Fond du Lac.

So we have three Democrats on the City Council. Excellent!
