Miller Appointed To State Art Board

Governor Scott Walker announced Friday the appointment of Kevin Miller, Executive Director of the Fond du Lac Arts Council which owns and operates Windhover Center for the Arts to the Wisconsin Arts Board (WAB). The Arts Board is the state agency which nurtures creativity, cultivates expression, promotes the arts, supports the arts in education, stimulates community and economic development and serves as a resource for people of every culture and heritage.

“Kevin is a terrific addition because he brings a unique perspective to the WAB as the director of an arts center that is a significant attraction in Fond du Lac,” Wisconsin Tourism Secretary Stephanie Klett said. “He understands the value that arts and cultural attractions bring to tourism in Wisconsin and the impact that the arts have on the state’s economy and quality of life.”

“I am honored to be part of the Wisconsin Arts Board, especially during such an exciting time for Fond du Lac,” Miller said. “Our multi-million dollar expansion project will be a catalyst for new business and recreation opportunities in this area and provide an asset – previously absent – for employers looking to retain and attract new talent.”

The Wisconsin Arts Board is governed by a fifteen-member board appointed by the Governor to serve three-year terms. Board members are Wisconsin citizens recognized for their accomplishments in the arts, humanities, business, education or public service. The board includes members from urban and rural areas across the state and from diverse racial, economic and cultural backgrounds. Board members set policy for the agency and approve funding recommendations made by the peer review panels. The members meet a minimum of four times per year, and all meetings are open to the public.
