Miracle League Capital Campaign Starting Soon

Organizers of a Miracle League in Fond du Lac hope to launch a $1 million capital campaign soon to make Playmore Park the home for their baseball field. The City Council last month approved a memorandum of understanding with Brooke Industries to sponsor a Miracle League in the City.  League Co-Directors and Founders Tom and Kim Trent say they got the idea when their daughter participated in a Miracle League in Appleton. The league gives children with disabilities a chance to play baseball and Tom says after an organizational meeting their daughter was very excited about participating. Stacey Medina of Brooke Industries says they got involved because it fits in with what they do. She says they work with adults with disabilities. She says they felt it would be a great opportunity for the community and for the people who work for them as well. The league hopes to begin play in the summer of next year. Anyone who would like to donate to the capital campaign or would like to know more can call Medina of Kelly Hughes at Brooke Industries at (920) 924-3020.
