Molitor Praises New FDL Festivals Executive Director

The new Executive Director for Fond du Lac Festivals is set
to begin his new role in the coming days. Pete Wilke was announced as the new
Executive Director for the organization last month. The Eden native had been
working with Destination Lake Winnebago Region, formerly the Fond du Lac Area
Convention and Visitors Bureau, where he helped create the Sturgeon Spectacular
festival.

Craig Molitor, President of Destination Lake Winnebago
Region, tells us that while they’re sad to see Wilke leave their office, they
are excited for his future with Fond du Lac Festivals. “We celebrate his move
because its good for the community, we shed a tear because we’re losing him but
one of the more important organizations in this community – Fond du Lac
Festivals Incorporated – they’re getting a good person so its good for the
community,” Molitor said. Fond du Lac Festivals hosts the annual Walleye
Weekend festival in June, and Molitor tells us he believes Wilke has the “skill
set, the energy and enthusiasm and the smarts” to help Walleye Weekend thrive.
