Money Smart Week Events attract over One Thousand Participants

Are you Money Smart? Fact is, we all could use a little help
when it comes to managing our finances. Money doesn’t come with instructions,
and that’s why banks, businesses, schools, libraries and lots of others are
joining together to help support financial education during Money Smart Week.

Fond du Lac County Money Smart Week’s 31
events were a part of the National Money Smart Week’s 3,500 events, focused
on  providing financial education across
all age groups across the country.

Shelley Tidemann, Fond
du Lac County Money Smart Week co-chair noted, approximately 1,044 Fond du Lac County residents participated in
financial literacy events throughout the week,

Tidemann commented
“Our Kick-Off event was the 4th annual Women’s Finance Conference
with 91 individuals hearing Keynoter Pam Otten,
CEO/Investment Advisor at Pamela Otten LLC. discuss managing financially life’s
transitions.  Youth and their parents
participated in Penny the Pig, The Big Read and the design the dollar contest
to name a few youth events.  The week
ended with national author- Jeff Yeager, The Ultimate Cheapskate visiting the Fond du Lac Public
library and telling those in attendance about his frugal lifestyle.  Many more classes were offered throughout the
week which many folks attended.”
