Motion To Suppress Evidence In Motorcycle Fatality Case Denied

A Fond du Lac County Judge Wednesday morning denied a motion to suppress evidence in the case of the Hilbert man who ran into a group of motorcyclists resulting in the deaths of two of them. Seven others were injured in that accident last May on Highway 151 in Town of Taycheedah when Clinton Lovelace ran into a group of 12 motorcyclists from Michigan. Brad Groom was among the riders. He says it’s the first time he’s seen Lovelace in nearly a year. A Sheriff’s deputy found some syringes and a package of a controlled substance in a bag of clothing that was brought to the emergency room at St. Agnes Hospital. The deputy went into the bag to answer a cell phone that was ringing and found those items and Lovelace’s ID. District Attorney Eric Toney says he’s pleased to hear the evidence wasn’t suppressed. A trial hasn’t been scheduled yet.

What is "evidence?" What makes something evidence, when are you supposed to have it, and what do you do with it? Although this article may address things obvious to some, sometimes those are the most difficult things to find out.
