Motions Denied In FDL County Heroin Overdose Death Case

10-Jul-2014

A Fond du Lac County judge this week denied two motions made by the attorney of a 56-year-old Milwaukee man who allegedly supplied the herioin that resulted in the death of a Fond du Lac man. District Attorney Eric Toney says Judge Dale English denied requests from the lawyer for Reginald Dorsey asking for permission to modify his bail to allow him to be moved to a hospice. Dorsey has terminal cancer. A request to dismiss the 1st degree reckless homicide charge was also denied. He is charged for the July 3rd 2012 death of 28-year-old Adam Ellman of Fond du Lac. According to the criminal complaint 50-year-old Jeffrey Abitz of Fond du Lac drove Ellman down to Dorsey’s residence in Milwaukee the day before Ellman’s death to buy percocet and heroin. Dorsey allegedly admitted to detectives he facilitated the heroin transaction by calling the heroin source he knew. Abitz faces the same charge and has a jury trial scheduled in December. A motion hearing in Dorsey’s case is scheduled for September 25th.
