Motorcycle Visibility

An inspector with the State Patrol reminds drivers it’s time to be aware once again of motorcycle traffic on our roads. Scott Hlinak says as the weather gets nicer more motorcyclists will be on the road. He says more motorcyclists are hurt in cross traffic accidents by drivers making left turns who aren’t aware of them. He recommends looking twice in cross traffic before you turn. Hlinak says unfortunately a lot of motorcyclists are clothed in darker clothing, which doesn’t help the visibility problem for drivers. He says if people don’t see that motorcycle headlight and their depth perception is off that is when an accident is more likely to happen.  Motorcyclists are also reminded if you ride a motorcycle you need a motorcycle endorsement on your license.
