National Preparedness Month

How well would you have done if you lived in parts of the U.S. impacted by Hurricanes the last few weeks? It’s a question emergency management officials are putting to residents during this National Preparedness Month. Bobbi Hicken is the Communications and Emergency Management Director for Fond du Lac County. To be prepared you have to have at least a three day supply of food and water. More is better in case responders can’t get to you right away. Hicken says your family should pick a location outside your city they can reunite in case there is a natural disaster. Hicken suggests visiting the Ready.gov or Red Cross websites to get templates for a preparedness plan. There is also information available at the County’s Emergency Management webpage.
