New Berlin Man Nearly Run Over By Semi

Washington County Sheriff’s officials say a 61-year-old New Berlin man was taken to Froedtert Medical Center Wednesday morning after he was nearly run over by a semi-tractor in the Village of Richfield. The man was trying to disengage frozen brakes on the parked semi by striking them with a hammer. The brakes released and the truck started rolling down a small grade while the victim clung to the undercarriage so he wouldn’t be run over. Another employee was able to stop the truck after it had rolled 152 feet. The New Berlin man was injured, but wasn’t run over.
