New Owners For The FDL Elks Lodge

The Elks Lodge in downtown Fond du Lac has a new owner. ModTruss Incorporated purchased the historic building at 33 Sheboygan Street. The closing for the sale was Thursday. ModTruss makes modular building components such as special stages and platforms used by announcers for events like the World Series and the U.S. Open Tennis Tournament. CEO Patrick Santini says they will use the lodge for their corporate headquarters. He hopes down the line they will be able to open the building up for some public use as well. Santini points out that before they can open it up to the public the lodge that was built in 1904 will have to go through some renovation, but they intend to preserve the nature of the building. Downtown Fond du Lac Partnership Director Amy Hansen says it is a great development for the downtown. She says ModTruss has been a Fond du Lac based business for years, were looking to expand and saw an opportunity with the Elks building.
